Owerri—Catholic youths at Our Lady of Good Counsel, Imerienwe in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State, have continued to complain about celebrating a mass in their church without a priest.

Vanguard gathered yesterday, that for two consecutive Sundays, worshippers at the church had not celebrated a mass with a priest, according to the doctrine of the Catholic Church.

Vanguard was also reliably informed that the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Jonathan Ezenwoke, and his assistant were “forced“ to leave the parish house after a “misunderstanding” with the congregation that led to the locking of the gate of the church .

The youths were said to be largely responsible for the events which culminated to the “packing out” of the priests from the church.

Trouble started when the gate of the church was locked by different societies in the church, calling for “the removal of the priests.”

They alleged that they were uncomfortable with the policies introduced by Fr. Ezenwoke and that such were “strange” to them.
