Super Eagles coach Salisu Yusuf has called on the Nigeria Football Federation to get quality matches for the team to prepare them for the FIFA 2018 World Cup qualifier against Cameroon.
Yusuf argued that it was pointless worrying about the games against the AFCON 2017 champions who are desperate to overturn the Super Eagles six points lead in the group B pairings.
“As far as we are concerned, we want to try and speak less about the World Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Cameroon which is still over five months away.
‘’All the coaches of the Eagles are in touch with the technical adviser and we have been comparing notes on what we know of the Indomitable Lions.
“We are concentrating now on getting quality friendly matches for the Eagles so that they too can be busy just as the Cameroonians were during the Nations Cup in Gabon.
‘’I want to assure Nigerians that there is nothing to fret about at all,” said Yusuf.
He indicated that he is searching for players that will make his team for the CAF Africa Nations Championship.
“I will be in Port Harcourt this weekend for Rivers United Champions League match. I wish to use this game to look at some of the players who will be suitable for the national team,” Yusuf disclosed.
“I also plan to be in Enugu for a midweek league game.”
