The Joint Task Force, JTF has repelled Boko Haram attacked in Buni-Yadi, the headquarter of Gujba local government area, Yobe State.

Vanguard gathered that the insurgents came in drove and attacked the military formation at the entrance of the town, Saturday, at about 7pm, but the superior fire power of the military left scores of the Boko-Haram terrorists dead and several others injured.

The Yobe State government has recently relocated the displaced people of the area after the returned of peace in the area. However, the recent attack came as a surprise to the entire people of Gujba, who have been going about their business without any fear of insurgents’ attacks.

Residents, however say attack on Gujba may not be unconnected to the defeat of Boko-Haram in their dreaded hideout at Sambisa, where many of them were captured and others fleeing to places like Gujba.

A soldier that confided in Vanguard said peace had immediately returned to the area as residents are now going about their businesses on Sunday morning.

He said: “We overpowered them, the insurgents and many of them were killed. While some have fled, I believe they must have escaped from Sambisa forest to look for food.”

Residents of Damaturu, the state capital, Sunday morning, however woke up to witness intensive security checkpoints by men of the Nigerian Police Force to forestall any unforseen situation within the state capital.
