‘LASIEC’s N3bn budget shows commitment to LG polls’

Lagos—Administrative Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Lagos West Senatorial District, Mr. Segun Idris has said that the allocation of N3bilion to the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC, in the 2017 budget indicated that the state government was committed to conducting local government election despite contrary opinions.

Idris, a chairmanship aspirant in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area, LGA, urged Lagosians to keep faith with LASIEC, noting that he was confident the commission would conduct a credible exercise.

Briefing newsmen yesterday in Lagos, Idris commended the state government for being dedicated to grassroots development, noting that members of his LGA were elated about the closeness of governance to them.

His words: ‘’It is interesting to know that the state government is committed to having a credible council polls. That was evident from the allocation of N3 billion to LASIEC in the 2017 budget. That showed that the government is concerned about getting things right when the time for the election comes.”
