Owerri—A former candidate of the Imo East Senatorial election under the defunct Congress for Progress Change, CPC, said the people of Imo State deserved a leader who “knows and is capable of solving their problems.”

He made this statement at Enyiogugu in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo state, during his 60th birthday celebration and educational scholarships to students of tertiary institutions in the state, through his Foundation.

Baring his mind on the political future of Imo State, he said: “All I can say about the political future of Imo State is that we need a leader who is a grassroots person, who knows the peoples problems and can solve them.”

He attributed the unacceptable state of governance to lack of consultations with the people.

“If you are a creative person and you are not ventilating what you are doing with the people you have a problem” he added.

He went further to say:”We have a governor who is his own. All the things he is doing may not bad. I did not condemn him but the truth is that even when you do a little thing, it could be misinterpreted.”

On his view about the economy,”If the budget is funded what I mean is that money is released and there is reflation in the system, of course things will turn around.”

He added:”If there are no releases, budget will not be executed and recurrent expenditures may even experience some challenges, adding “ the answer is to implement policies that support growth.”

Amadi explained further that, the production process of the economy should be adequately given attention.

“When you talk about growth you talk of production process, let the fund for Small and Medium Enterprises be accessible to them so that the economy can stand again” he advised.
