Lagos—Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State is set to revive the visual art with the hosting of the first Rasheed Gbadamosi Eko Art Expo.

The three-day exhibition which is being organized to honour the late Chief Rasheed Gbadamosi, who was a playwright and one of the notable art collectors in the country who also served as the co-chairman of the Lagos @ 50 Planning Committee before his death in November 2016  and celebrate the creativity in Lagos will feature photography, paintings, sculptures and installations from emerging artists and the masters .

The event which is organized by Lagos State government in collaboration with some galleries and art foundations in the State, is scheduled to open on Friday, January 27,  to 29th 2017 at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island. It will be declared opened by the Lagos State governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, with the Chairman of the Lagos @ 50 Planning Committee, Prof. Wole Soyinka.   About 25 galleries are participating, while works by students from all the higher institutions in Lagos will be on display.
