ABUJA-Minister of Justice and Attorney of the Federation, AGF, Mr. Abubakar Malami, again, visited the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday.
This is the second time he would be visiting the State House alone within 4 days to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari behind closed doors.
The last he visited was on Friday, last week and also met with the president.
It was not certain what his Tuesday mission to the Presidential Villa was for but Vanguard Correspondent observed that the files he clutched when entering the Villa were not with him when he exited.
He didn’t speak with Journalists and there was no official statement at to why he sought audience with the President.
Feelers in the Villa however were focused on the submission of the report of investigation on the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Lawal Babachir and the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu over acts of corruption leveled against them by the Nigerian Senate.
It will be recalled that the president on December 18, 2016 directed the AGF to initiate a probe on the two government officials.
While Babachir was accused of tampering with the funds meant for the welfare of the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs in the north east, Magu was also heavily indicted by a report from the Department of the State Service, DSS that he lived in a house rented under fraudulent circumstances and also flouted a presidential order by flying first class to Saudi Arabia.
Calls to president Buhari to sack both men had reached a crescendo. But the president chose to launch an investigation first.
