Abuja—Following confirmation by military authorities that several Boko Haram terrorists escaped the final onslaught, Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger State has enjoined citizens to be vigilant and wary of fleeing sect members, who might want to seek refuge in the state.
It will be recalled that Niger State has a sizeable population of residents working in Suleija and parts of Madala/Zuba and working in Abuja.

Bello said the capture and fall of Sambisa Forest, the last stronghold of the insurgents, posed a serious challenge to other states because they will spread all over the country and regrettably mix with and disguise as good people.
In a statement by Malam Jibrin Ndace, Chief Press Secretary, Governor Bello urged citizens to be watchful and not to harbour unknown strangers, stressing that security issue is a collective responsibility of everyone.
