OBA of Benin,  Omo N’Oba  Ewuare 11 has tasked  the Nigeria Police to as a mater of urgency to tackle the activities of  Fulani herdsmen which  have of recently caused loss of lives and destruction of farm produce worth millions of Naira in the state.

The Benin monarch, who seriously frown at the activities of the herdsmen in the state,  urged the police to immediately step up intelligence  unit to arrest the ugly trend. Oba Ewuare 11, made the appeal yesterday while playing host to the new Assistant Inspector General Of Police, Zone 5, Mr  Abubakar Mohammed and top police officers in his palace.

He described the current criminal activities of the cattle rearers in Edo  as worrisome, noting that meetings had been held with the Imam, Sereki Nupe and Hausa  leaders to work out  templates to tackle the menace

Oba Ewuare who tasked the zonal  police boss to check the criminal tendencies of Community Development Associations in seven council areas of the Bini nation, assured that measures were  being  put in place to re-engage the youths in a meaningful and productive ventures

Earlier, Mr Abubakar Mohammed, who assumed duty on the 15th of November 2016 as the 20th Assistant Inspector General of Police, zone 5 said he was at the palace to seek advice and royal blessings of the Oba ahead of the onerous task before him.
