N-Delta won’t allow tyrants kill Tompolo – Ozobo, activist

By Emma Amaize
WARRI- PRESIDENT, Ijaw People’s Development Initiative, IPDI, Mr. Austin Ozobo, Sunday, said that Niger Delta will not allow what happened to renowned activists, the late Isaac Adaka and Boro Ken Sarowiwa, to befall former militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo.

Ozobo said in a press statement in Warri: “Boro and Sarowiwa died in the hands of betrayers and government agents, who were desperate to exploit and control Niger Delta oil, Niger Delta will not allow history to repeat itself.”

“Tompolo has nothing to do with the current bombing of oil facilities by aggrieved agitators, he is on the run and dragging his name to activities of current agitators or criminal activities perpetrated by mischief makers of Ijaw and Itsekiri enclaves are very unfortunate.

“Tompolo since the emergence of Niger Delta Avengers has denied any involvement with the group and mischief makers should leave him alone. They are after his life because they see him as a threat to their evil plans against Niger Delta region,” he asserted.

He added: “Ordinarily, no well-meaning person see him as a threat except those with ulterior motive. He is a peaceful person and has indicated so in many fora. We will not accept same government forces that killed Isaac Boro and Ken Sarowiwa to kill Tompolo,”

“Tompolo means well for the current President Muhammadu Buhari government, he means well for the Niger Delta people, so I cannot see why some persons want to kill him clandestinely to service their selfish interest.

“Niger Delta has a lot to gain from Tompolo, so let us not betray him because of food and money, that is why I want his EFCC charges withdrawn because he would not have undergoing his present sufferings if not that he loved Niger Delta. Tompolo would have been sleeping comfortably with his family like some of us, but because he choose to sacrifice his joy for the region,” he added.
