MAKURDI—Over 345 internally-displaced persons, IDPs, and widows from Agatu Local Government Area have received food items, clothes and cash gifts from wife of the Benue State Governor, Mrs. Eunice Ortom to celebrate the Yuletide.

The gesture was also extended to the elderly, physically-challenged and widows in 22 local government areas of the state.

Making the donation in Makurdi, Mrs. Ortom said the gesture was aimed at helping the displaced and indigent people, who might not be able to afford food for their families due to their condition.

She said: “It is also intended to put smiles on the faces of those who must have felt forgotten. But they are always on our minds because we feel their pains.”
