YOLA—A 70 years old woman, Regina Daniel, was killed by his son, Clement Daniel, for preventing him from selling a portion of farmland inherited from his late father in Delichim Community in Bazza, Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa state.

The entire community was thrown into mourning on Christmas day as the news of the murder of the aged woman by her son filtered out over land disputes.

A resident, who pleaded for anonymity, said when Clement approached his mother to sell the said land which she used for farming after the demise of her husband, she advised him not to sell the land.

Angered by the action of his late mother, Daniel strangled her with rope and slit her throat.

When contacted, the Adamawa state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abubakar Othman, confirmed the incident, saying he is yet to get full details of the murder.

He said investigation is still on-going and the details would be made to public as soon as they are through.
