WARRI—THREE thousand mosquito nets were distributed to residents of Koko, headquarters of Warri North Local Government Area, Delta State, while more were diagnosed and treated for various malaria ailments in the locality.
The health charity event was carried out by Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC/Chevron Nigeria Limited Joint Venture, in collaboration with Development Africa Malaria Elimination Programme, DAMEP, and the state government.
General Manager, Policy, Government and Public Affairs, Chevron, Deji Haastrup, said: “Malaria is preventable, can be treated eradicated. This is why we are sponsoring this programme.”
At the event were Dr. Francis Onojeta, who represented Dr. Nicholas Azinge, Delta State Commissioner for Health; Francis Maku, Chairman, Warri North Council, and Joshua Kempener, Country Director, Development Africa.
