ASABA: SPEAKER of the Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Monday Igbuya, yesterday described the former Governor of the state Chief James Onanefe Ibori as a man with good fighting spirit and a great achiever.
Igbuya in a statement made available to newsmen, praised Chief James Onanefe Ibori for advancing the cause of Nigeria and giving the state his best.
He also described the former Delta State Governor as a rallying point and a source of great pride and strength to Nigerians, praising the former governor for defending the interests of the South-South people.
While commending the ex-governor for inspiring many Nigerians to greater heights, contributing significantly to the electoral fortunes of key political actors in the country and succeeding in the art of governance, Igbuya commended Ibori’s legal team for a job well done.
According to him, “Chief James Ibori loves Nigeria more than any other thing. He made great sacrifices on several occasions to demonstrate this love”.
Igbuya said Ibori pursued the socio-economic and industrial development of the state with vigour.
Igbuya also said Ibori mobilised Deltans effectively for the development of the state, adding that “Chief James Ibori is a pillar in Delta State”.

In his reaction, National leader of Urhobo Nationality Council, UNC, Olorogun Jaro Egbo said; “it is a momentous and historic even on the scale of Nelson Mandela freedom walk.
“For every well meaning Urhobo person irrespective of our political divide we are happy about the good news of Chief James Ibori release as we eagerly look forward to his coming home to contribute to the development of Urhobo land”.
