The Enugu based Umuchinemere Pro Credit Microfinance Bank (UPMFB) has disbursed N700 million in its financial report for the third quarter, January to September 2016.
In a statement, the bank disclosed that 2,933 active poor Nigerians benefited from the disbursement just as it said that its target is to disburse over N1billion by year end as part of effort geared towards fighting poverty in the society.
Head of Credit, UPMFB Mr. Charles Udeani, said that the funds were meant to help the beneficiaries meet their financial needs, improve their quality while lifting them out of poverty.
Udeani added that the bank exercised more caution while lending in the present circumstance, just as he explained that the country’s present economic recession affected the bank’s credit activities in the period under review.
Meanwhile, 1,175 females and 1,758 males benefited from the N700million
