Abuja—THE Senate said it would soon begin moves to amend the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation, NTDC, Act No. 81 of 1992.
The Senate also said it would carry out a holistic amendment of the Act setting up the National Institute for Cultural Orientation, NICO, and other agencies under the purview of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to actualise their mandate.
Speaking during oversight visits to NTDC and NICO, Chairman, Senate Committee on Culture and Tourism, Senator Matthew Urhoghide (PDP, Edo South), said it had become imperative to amend the enabling laws of NTDC to make it more vibrant, especially against the backdrop of economic diversification drive of the present government.
