ABAKALIKI—ALLEGATIONS and counter-allegations, weekend, continued to rock the Ebonyi State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, as victims of a fire disaster in Ebonyi State accused top officials of the agency of allegedly diverting materials meant for them.
The victims also accused officials of the agency of distributing rotten and spoilt foodstuffs to them, while converting the good ones to their personal use.
Contacted, the Executive Secretary, Pastor Oziomaeze Kenneth, said he directed the HOD of Administration and Chibueze Iteshi, in charge of relief and rehabilitation to distribute the relief materials.
He said the agency will probe the matter and attributed the fraud to the leadership tussle between him and the agency’s Chairman, Evangelist Ephraim Ononye.
However, Ononye denied involvement in the matter, saying he was not even aware that the agency distributed relief materials. He condemned the alleged diversion of the materials.
