Baits are designed with the sole intention of enticing and luring the undiscerning through appealing to the eyes, the ego and selfishness of the morally weak and the lousy.
The bait principle has always been an age long joker of the devil, he used it successfully on Eve, Genesis3:1-11, Judah, Genesis 38:13-26, Samson, Judges16:1-6, King David, 2Sam11:1-15, Amnon, 2Sam13:1-19. Joseph escaped the bait, Gen39:1-12, the Lord Jesus in His humanity also triumphed, Matt4:1-11,and can you by His enabling grace.
Several individuals going through severe personal issues today are victims of Baits, the bait is no respecter of age, class, size or calling in life, the word of God rightly instructs, let him that thinks he’s standing take heed lest he falls, 1Cor10:12.
Triumphing Over Baits.
- Live a contented life with what you have at the moment, derive satisfaction from what you have, 1 Timothy 6:6-11.
2.Protect your mind from stray thoughts, thoughts are things, an unguarded mind is the devil’s playground, John 13:2, Prov 4:23, 1Peter 1:13.
- Make up your mind ahead of time Daniel 1:8, Isaiah50:7, Job 31:1.
- Don’t give the devil a foothold advantage in any area of your life. Ephesians 4:27, 2Cor2:10.
- Mind your company and those who speak into your life, Prov5:8-9, Prov22:24-25.
6.Steer clear of every environment and exposures that has the capacity to weaken your will power, 1Thes5:22, Rom13:14.
- Stay prayed up and sensitive to the Holy Spirit at all times, Psalm32:8, Isaiah48:17, 1Peter5:9.
- Be vigilant, focused and of sound mind never responding to every impulse, 1Peter5:8.
- Create the right spiritual atmosphere through strategic prayers, praise/worship, declaration of the Word, the Blood of Jesus and gratitude Psalm22:3, Rev12:11.
- Live the life of faith and totally depend on the Holy Spirit for victory over all baits and snares. Her. 12:5-6.
