Former Ufuoma Babes proprietor, Elder Kuejubola Onajite has backed his former player and captain, Florence Omagbemi to lead the Super Falcons to greater heights.
Omagbemi had her first taste of tournaments as a coach, when the Super Falcons blew away Mali with a 6-0 win at the Africa Women Cup of Nations in Cameroon on Sunday. Omagbemi is aiming to become the first female coach to win AWCON as a captain and a coach.
“This is our first game and we are in the process of finding our feet. We are through with Mali and looking forward to Ghana. Our focus is to defend our trophy and we have just started,” Omagbemi stated in Limbe after the match.
Kuejubola who is part of Nigeria’s delegation to the AWCON stated that he trusted the Super Falcons coach to do a good job.
“Winning against Mali was very important. It will more than build the team’s confidence. Besides, I totally trust Omagbemi to do a good job of guiding the team to the final. I’ve known her since she was in primary school and when she started playing football to be a focused person,”said Kuejubola.
