ABEOKUTA—Men of Ogun State Police Command have arrested four suspected cultists, including three teenagers, during initiation.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement, said Adeleke Busayo, 19; Adeyemi Olusegun, 19; Usman Quyum, 18 and Adetunji Joshua, 25, were arrested at Olorunwa area of Ota in Ado-Odo Local Government Area of Ogun State, while they were being initiated into Pirates Confraternity.

According to the PPRO, policemen attached to Onipanu Division, acting on a tip-off from members of the community, were led to the scene by the DPO, CSP Baba Maiyaki, and got the suspects arrested while their kingpin, simply known as Bamboo, escaped.

Oyeyemi said: “The arrested suspects have all made confessional statements. The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has directed that the suspects be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID, for further investigation.

“He further directed that the escaped suspect be fished out as soon as possible.”
