Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, and the management of Igbinedion University, Okada, among others, have commended Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State for the appointment of Mr. John Mayaki, as his Chief Press Secretary, CPS, describing the appointment as a right choice.

While NUJ and NUT, in separate congratulatory messages hailed Mayaki’s appointment, saying Governor Obaseki could not have made a better choice, the management Igbinedion University and Edo Progressive Ambassadors, EPA, said Mayaki was known for his zeal, zest, and is a result-oriented media personality.

Edo NUT chairman, Mr. Mike Osagioduwa Uhunmwangho said Governor Obaseki’s few appointments so far showed him as a visionary leader, saying, “We are convinced that you will positively impact on this new administration’s policies and programmes. The NUT and the entire teachers in Edo State will steadfastly support you throughout the period of your assignment as Chief Press Secretary.”

In the same vein, NUJ, through its Edo State chairman and Secretary, Roland Osakue and Alemma-Ozioruva Aliu, said: “Mayaki, as you settle down to your new assignment, we encourage you to ensure that the social contract this administration promised the Edo people remain sacrosanct.”
