Minna—Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger State has declared a state of emergency on health in the state, a move that followed his unscheduled visit to Minna General Hospital and other health facilities in the state recently.

State Commissioner for Health and Hospital Services, Dr. Mustapha Jubril, said aside from the decision to provide modern infrastructure, the remuneration of the health workers would also be looked into to allow them discharge their official duties with ease.

He said the overhauling will cost N2 billion and the state would pay N160 million above the current salary of health workers.
