The APC in Ondo State has raised an alarm over contracts being awarded  by the state  governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko.

The Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr Abayomi Adesanya, alleged that contracts worth  billions of  naira were being awarded to a crony of the governor.

He said: “The outgoing governor, Olusegun Mimiko has concluded plans to award contracts worth N62 billion. Among the contracts to be awarded is the 28Kilometre Aboto-Atijere Road, in Ilaje Local Government Area of the state. It was given to Zhijiang Construction Company. Our party, APC shall keep close-watch on the governor.’’

It’s APC’s propaganda— Ondo govt

Reacting to APC’s claim, the Ondo State Commissioner for Information, Mr Kayode Akinmade, said it was  propaganda by the party.

His words: “Typical of the APC, their intention is to divert attention from the evil plan to manipulate the electoral process in favour of their candidate. That kind of allegation can only come from the pit of hell. It is common knowledge that the APC is known for their propaganda.

‘’The pitiable economic situation of the country, which has prevented most states from paying salaries as at when due at this period does not allow for any frivolous contract to be awarded. Where will such money come from? For any contract to be awarded, it must pass through the state Executive Council and there is nothing of such before the executives.

“They can make such lousy allegation because they don’t know how government runs, this is evident in the way they have mishandled the affairs of the country. That is why we tell our people not to fall into their hand. They are like a thief, who only comes to kill and destroy. Their spokesperson who made the allegation is imbued with satanic anointing that has made it easy for him to concoct such lousy and mischievous lie.”
