Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Inyang Etim Inyang, a legal practitioner and Inyang’s son, said the service became necessary to honour the ex-police boss for his enormous contributions to national security. “Inyang also initiated the establishment of Police Training College in Oji, Rivers and Maiduguri, as well as the Detective College in Enugu. His department streamlined and handled all courses of the Nigeria Police within and outside the country.
In order to strengthen the civic bonds of the Police, he initiated the Police Community Relations Committee programme (PCRC). He advised that the community should be part of the Police, especially in giving useful information to curb crime in the society”, he said.
