Leveraging on Facebook’s boss, Mark Zukerberg’s visit and endorsement of Nigeria as a technology, cyber emerging nation, an indigenous software developer MAGMADE Nigeria has developed and launched a comic relief App called YabSpace, meant to add value to Nigerian’s humour nature in this time of recession.
In a statement made available to media, MAGMADE Nigeria spokesperson Syreeta Akinyede states “Nigerians are regarded as one of the happiest people on earth, so it’s no wonder that a first-of-its-kind online real-time comic relief app YabSpace was developed to take entertainment to a personal level, by giving users the opportunity to engage in Yab or Diss battles, with winners emerging every week and being rewarded with premium gifts and cash prizes.”
She added; “Users would have to be very witty, creative and possess the ability to think quickly on their feet in order to survive a battle and progress in the game. Winners are generated based on the numbers of ‘boos’ or ‘corrects’ they have from other users. Apart from that, YabSpace will also serve as a springboard for recruiting talents in the comic relief industry, who originally may never have had such opportunities and exposure.
All users have to do is download the app from the Google Play Store and register. Registration is free. Other features of the app include the ability to post and read jokes.”
