THE governorship candidate of the Unity Party of Nigeria, UPN, Bola Aidi, yesterday, promised to redirect the state to the path of socio-economic development if voted into power.
Aidi while speaking in Akure said that instead of lamenting the state of affairs particularly the state’s economy, vowed to hit the ground running if elected.
Aidi said: “My heart bleeds any time I remember that more than 75 percent of the citizens of my state are currently living without electricity and pipe borne water. When I resume as the governor of the state, on my honour, my team will address in a comprehensive manner, the challenges of road and rural infrastructure in the state.
Agunloye promises prompt payment of salaries
GOVERNORSHIP candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Dr. Olu Agunloye has assured workers in the state of prompt payment of their salaries.
Dr. Agunloye, a former Minister of Power and Steel, who said this during his tour of communities in Akoko areas of the state, said his administration would not owe workers their monthly salaries if voted in as governor.
He also promised to reverse the dearth of infrastructure in the entire state in addition to implementing an effective welfare package that will ensure that workers get their salaries as at when due.
