THE Presidency said yesterday that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari will start the implementation of the 2017 budget, January 1, just as it stressed that as a government, it has put everything in place to achieve the set goal and target.
According to the Presidency, to ensure that the implementation of the 2017 budget commenced at the chosen date, the Government would ensure that the 2017 Appropriation Bill would be presented to the National Assembly before the end of 2016 to enable the lawmakers look at the document and subsequently pass it for Presidential asset.
Addressing Journalists yesterday in Abuja, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly matters( Senate), Senator Ita Enang said that as a prelude to the presentation of the 2017 Appropriation Bill, the President had already forwarded the 2017, 2018 and 2019 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper, MTEF & FSP to the National Assembly for consideration and subsequent approval.
