‘Ikeazor’s appointment ‘ll revive Pensions Directorate’

By Elizabeth Uwandu
LAGOS—THE League of Patriotic Lawyers has said that the appointment of Ms. Sharon Ikeazor as the Executive Secretary of Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate ,PTAD, would revive the agency from what it described as an ailing state.

It also lauded President Muhammadu Buhari over the appointment, describing the appointee as a square peg in a square hole.

Briefing newsmen yesterday,  its chairman, Mr. Abubakar Yesufu, said: “Heading the directorate is a patriotic call that requires an individual with burning gusto and zeal. Sharon, undeniably hit the headlines and people’s consciousness as Nigeria’s uncrowned ‘’Queen of Hearts”, when she led the lone voice against the Sosoliso Air Crash of 2005, describing same as avoidable.

“Sharon refused the “mechanical excuse” and called for sanctions against the loss of lives, especially children. Since then, our Sharon has never looked back and does not mind stepping on toes on behalf of the downtrodden.

“She was constant in Buhari’s quest for the presidency. Sharon remains an amazon and despite three questionable defeats by the then ruling PDP but she refused to jump ship.We have no doubt that Sharon would excel and give that ailing directorate a new lease of life and a breath of fresh air.”
