Delta Assembly tasks MDAs on due process

By Gladys Ezeagu

Chairman,  Delta State House of Assembly Committee on Public Accounts, Mr Anthony Elekeokwuri, has restated the commitment of the House to ensure that all agencies of government and tertiary institutions in the state follow due process in line with existing laws in revenue generation and expenditure of public funds.

Elekeowuri, during the committee’s separate interactive meetings with some agencies and tertiary institutions geared toward effective and efficient service delivery in the state, noted that the oversight function of the committee on Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs, is provided in section 128 of the constitution and section 110 of the House Rule to carry out specific functions as regards public account and expenditure.

The lawmaker said that the meeting was not to witch hunt anyone but to ensure that standard procedure was adhered to in revenue generation and expenditure.
