Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Cross River State, has expressed delight over the performance of Professor Ben Ayade as governor of the state.
The leadership of the party, which paid a visit to the governor in Calabar, said that Ayade remained extremely popular with the people of the state on account of his sterling performance in office.
Led by its chairman, Ntufam Edim Inok Edim, the party expressed its confidence in the governor’s leadership.
“Your Excellency, we want to use this opportunity to pass a vehement and unequivocal vote of confidence on your visionary leadership; and in particular, on your people-oriented policies, programmes and projects in the state,” said Edim.
He said the visit was necessary to “once again demonstrate our unflinching support to your administration as the unbeatable governor of Cross River State and leader of the Peoples Democratic Party.”
According to him, “Many of your innovations to transform the economic status of our dear state are trending positively and creating waves in the state and beyond.”
While urging Ayade to ignore detractors, the party said he remains popular with the people on account of his policies.
Responding Governor Ayade expressed appreciation to the party for the visit and restated his commitment to the people of Cross River.
He said his vision and projects had the blessing of God and “God can never let them die because they are intended to serve and improve the lives of the people. In the state distractions have become destruction. It is not who we are known for as Cross Riverians. Here in Cross River our heritage is to be civil and decent. For me, I have made a choice to learn from the criticisms of critics. I am being critized for doing something right. The ultimate focus is to serve the people. This visit gives me inspiration and hope.”
