The North-east youths under the aegis of North-east Youth Peace and Empowerment Initiative, NEYPEI, have described as malicious, the report by an online news medium (Not Vanguard) that about N3bn was found in the personal account of Alhaji Saleh Dunoma, Managing Director, Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN.
In a statement, National President, NEYPEI, Alhaji Kyari Abubakar expressed sadness at the deliberate attempt by the news medium to label some people in the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari as corrupt in order to ridicule the government.
According to Abubakar, “The report of Dunoma’s alleged corruption which was first published by the online news medium indicated that some officials of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) were bribed to cover up the matter. The denial by EFCC that she had not done such thing is an indication that the online medium is being used by some groups who had agenda of frustrating the good intention of the present administration.”
He said, “The spurious allegation against some officials in this government and how there were discovered to be untrue after EFCC;s investigations, lays credence to the fact that the online medium has reduced itself to a medium without credibility.”
Abubakar described Alhaji Dunoma as honest, detribalised and workaholic who has contributed immensely to the development of FAAN since he joined the agency.
Alhaji Abubakar who expressed confidence in the ability of EFCC under Ibrahim Magu to give Dunoma a clean slate at the end of their investigation, urged President Buhari to keep a watch on those who are bent on destabilizing the administration by giving false information to online media.
