*As Butchers Association denies endorsing Ize-Iyamu

THE leadership of the APC in Ihievbe, Owan East Local Government Area yesterday described as mischievous and misleading the claim by some leaders of the PDP in the area that the community and residents have decided to vote en-masse for the PDP.

Similarly, Edo State chairman of the Butchers’ Union of Nigeria, Comrade Ikponmwosa Orhue, has berated the former chairman of the Union, Mr. Sunny Omokaro, over his comment that the union had endorsed the candidate of the PDP, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

While recalling that the butchers union had earlier endorsed the candidate of the APC, Godwin Obaseki, Orhue disclosed that “Omokaro would have endorsed Ize-Iyamu with his name and not that of our union because he is not the chairman of the union but a former chairman.”

Ihieve community members, who were reacting to a statement credited to one Adams Afengbai, who claimed that the community will vote for the PDP candidate due to what he described as the alleged abandonment of the area by the APC-led administration, said his claims were untrue as the state government had built several projects in the area.

According to a statement signed by Sunny Oje, the recent commissioning of two industrial boreholes by Governor Adams Oshiomhole was a manifestation of the governor’s monumental achievements spread across the various sectors of the economy and three senatorial districts of the state.

“So PDP should stop this campaign of calumny and no matter what our people will show appreciation to the APC government by voting Godwin Obaseki.

The PDP is a drowning, factionalised party and cannot mobilise the people to vote against the APC which has done so much in rebuilding Edo state.
