Stolen Lagos car recovered in Akure, suspect nabbed

suspectLAGOS—A 28-year-old man,   who runs a one-man robbery squad, has been arrested in Lagos, and a stolen vehicle recovered from him.

The suspect, Dele Adeoye, was arrested in Akure, Ondo State, while on the verge of selling a Honda CRV SUV at a give-away price.

The suspect’s modus oparandi was to steal cars from where they are parked in Lagos and then sell same outside the state.

He was alleged to have removed the green-coloured Honda SUV, with number plates JF 995 EKY, from the premises of a building on 28, Saka Tinubu Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, two weeks ago.

Consequently, owner of the vehicle, one Feyi Kakpo, reported the incident to policemen at the Victoria Island Division.

Luck ran against the suspect after the vehicle, according to the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Dolapo Badmus, “was traced and recovered in Akure, Ondo State. He will be charged to court.”
