LAGOS—The Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team, IRT, has arrested two suspected members of the gang that abducted four residents of Oshorun Heritage Estate, in Isheri North area of Lagos, a fortnight ago.

They were arrested at about 11.30p.m., Tuesday, in Ondo State. Vanguard gathered that 12 militants participated in the abduction. It was also gathered that the kidnap gang has three camps in the creeks of Isheri north axis.

Some of them reportedly moved to the area following Air Force bombardment of the creeks in Arepo. Sources disclosed that one of those arrested was the second-in-command of one of the kidnap gangs in Isheri creeks, while the other is also a senior member.

It was further gathered that the second-in-command was arrested in his home in Ondo State, while his colleague was arrested at a hotel in the same state. During interrogation, they confessed to have collected ransom before their victims were released.

However, the exact amount they collected could not be ascertained at press time. It was also gathered that the gang has a lady as its member.

The lady, with an undisclosed identity, cooks for the kidnappers and their victims in the creeks. Sources hinted that the team was still on the trail of other members of the kidnap syndicate.
