A suspected robber met his death, yesterday, as he was burnt to ashes by a mob, which caught him while he was escaping after he had snatched a bag from a commuter along Badagry Expressway, Lagos.

An eyewitness said the deceased snatched a bag from a commuter at Finger Bus Stop, while his accomplice remained on a motorbike.

However, in his attempt to join his partner on the bike, a policeman on a patrol van fired a shot at him.

The eyewitness said: “A mob, which joined in the chase, beat him to stupor, laid the motorbike on him and set it on fire. Police took his partner, who was with a gun, away.”
