Edo APC chair wants security agencies to mop up militants

By Simon Ebegbulem

APC chairman, Mr. Anslem Ojezua, has appealed to security agents to mop up the militants allegedly imported to the state by the PDP so as to avoid bloodshed on the day of the rescheduled governorship election.

Speaking weekend to Vanguard, the APC chairman alleged that the militants were camped in hotels and private residence of PDP leaders, saying that arresting them will help prevent bloodshed in the rescheduled governorship election.

According to him, “we are appealing to security agencies to do their job for the interest of the people of the state. We are worried because we have heard of the kind of violence these people want to perpetrate on the day of the election. If you observe in the hotels in the state, you will notice that strange faces flooded the hotels most of them heavily armed.

“Once the security agencies are seen sanitizing the environment, the people will know and once they know the people will have confidence in coming out for the election. We need to encourage our people to come out for the election and the only way is to guarantee them of their safety”.
