*As Delta Speaker slams APC
Sapele—The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta Central senatorial district, Delta State, has passed a vote of confidence on the state Governor, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa and the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Mr. Monday Igbuya.
The confidence vote which was moved by former Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Sen. Emmanuel Aghwariavwodo, at a meeting of Delta Central senatorial district PDP stakeholders at the Sapele country home of the Speaker, was seconded by Chief Ighoyota Amori and was applauded and passed accordingly by all present.
Chairman of the party in Delta Central, Chief Patrick Fovie, said: “Today, the party (PDP) has passed a vote of confidence on the state governor, Sen. Okowa particularly for prudently managing the very scarce resources and allocations coming to the state. We have also accordingly passed a confidence vote on the Speaker, Mr Igbuya, for abridging the gaps, cracks and settling all the differences among party members, particularly in Ughelli South LGA.”
The Speaker, who earlier, had berated the All Progressives Congress, APC-led government at the national level, said: “We handed over to APC at the national level a robust economy but today, everything about the economy has gone bad. The naira is now exchanging about N500 to one dollar and the prices of staple food are now fixed in dolars because our naira has become worthless.
“What surprises one is that, the money is not there. So we should join hands and change the change and danger that APC has wreaked on this country.”
