Delta APC crisis: 47 to face probe, risk sanction

By Egufe Yafugborhi

WARRI –  THE All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State has inaugurated a seven-man disciplinary committee to probe 47 high ranking members of the party in a bid to sanction those behind the current crisis rocking the party in the state.

The move by the Delta APC Executive Council led by Prophet Jones Erue, came after Prince Hilliard Eta, APC National Vice Chairman, South South, had labelled the Sen. Francis Okpozo splinter group, State Elders and Leaders Committee, as illegal and warned those involved to desist.

The South South leadership took a swipe at the Okpozo group after it pronounced Erue’s state executive council sacked and instituted a caretaker committee.

Following a leadership congress, weekend, in Emede, Isoko South Local Government Area of the state, Erue told Vanguard that, “There’s nothing like in-fighting in Delta APC. We have a formidable structure, but there are tendencies. We have always known about these tendencies. These same people worked against the party in the past, they are PDP in APC.”

Meanwhile, the South South leadership of the party through Eta has enjoined all APC members in the state to continue in their support for the Erue-led state council, adding that the national leadership of the party was working to resolve all lingering issues in the state.
