CNS swimming competition for Teslim Balogun pools

The chairman of the local organising committee of the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) swimming competition. Commodore Suraj M. Bello, Thursday inspected the Teslim Balogun swimming complex, Lagos, in readiness for this year’s competition.

This year’s competition which has been fixed to hold from September 20-25, 2016 in Lagos, saw Commodore Bello accompanied by chairman, facility committee of Nigeria Aquatic Federation, Samuel Jesimiel and the stadium managerCommodore Bello, who is the director of sports, Naval Headquarters, inspected the swimming pool, call rooms, engine rooms, and spectators’ stands and expressed satisfaction on the facilities.

He saluted the Lagos State Government for accepting to host the 7th edition of the CNS at a short notice, and promised a befitting swimming fiesta ever.

Meanwhile, a FINA swimming clinic for the officials has been fixed for the Teslim Balogun stadium from September 15-17.

Selection of swimmers is in top gear throughout the federation as state swimming associations are putting finishing touches on the exercise.

Selected swimmers at the CNS swimming fiesta would represent Nigeria at the African Swimming Championship fixed for next month in South Africa.
