Bauchi—Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, has threatened to sanction primary or junior secondary school teachers over absenteeism.
Chairman of the board, Yahaya Ibrahim, issued the threat yesterday during an interview with newsmen, shortly after inspecting some public schools in Bauchi metropolis.
He expressed disappointment with the situation he found at the public schools, where there was a low turnout of both teachers and students between at 8.30a.m.
Ibrahim said government will not condole any act of indolence and indiscipline on the part of teachers, considering the huge amount of money injected into the education sector.
He warned that any teacher, who failed to give satisfactory reason for his or her absence, would face disciplinary action.
