The much awaited Yoruba Heritage Awards (YHA), one of Africa’s  landmark events that  promotes  African culture in the diaspora is finally set for its 2016 edition.

Speaking at  a recent press parely,  Mr Goke Adekonye C.E.O of Yoruba Heritage Awards said the aim of YHA is to build a platform to educate and promote Yoruba culture globally while supporting and celebrating those that have displayed leadership, patriotism and love for their heritage and serving as a model of cultural diplomacy, peace and tolerance for this generation and those to come.

Recall that the event which started in 2008 had since honoured many  sons and daughters of Nigerians who have contributed positively towards the development of  the Yoruba nation  through their crafts.  Also speaking at the event,  Mr. Akin Sokoya said, ‘This year’s event will take a new  dimension, as it  is slated to lrun for three days’.

On the first  day  of the event, Thursday October 20, the organizers  will  meet the New York City Mayor, Borough President  and visit Wall Street and World Trade Centre’.
