By Lucky Orji

UGHELLI—A former chairman of Iwhrekan community, in Ughelli South Local Government Area, Delta State, Mr. George Djukpan, has called on Nigerian Petroleum Development Company, NPDC, and its three host communities in OML34 to collectively protect oil facilities in the area.

Djukpan, in a letter to NPDC, advised the firm to continue to collaborate with its host communities, Iwhrekan, Otor-Udu and Otu-Jeremi by putting in place measures to ensure safety of NPDC facilities, particularly the Utorogun gas plant.

He said that NPDC should build more security houses at the entrance to NAG2 from Iwhrekan, sole host to the NAG2 Gas plant and also Otu-Jeremi flow station to intensify its security network in the area to check any attack on the facilities by hoodlums.
