Lagos—The Emeritus Catholic Archbishop of Lagos, Anthony Cardinal Okogie, yesterday called on the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to seek capable hands in handling the current economic challenges and insecurity confronting the nation.

Speaking during the inauguration of the ministry and enthronement of Rt. Rev Babatunde Johnson as the diocesan Bishop of Lagos Mainland, Okogie said that there are lots of capable hands, who can turn the country’s economic situation around for better.

He added that most people working with Buhari are only after his failure while few have genuine intention of moving the nation forward.

“President Buhari should get expert because there are so many people in the country, who are ready to help. I know he has people around him, some genuine people, while some are looking for his failure. They don’t mind if things are hard in the country or not, once they are okay. Those are the kind of people I see around him.”

“As a leader, he is like a father, who has to keep eyes on his children. The masses trust Buhari with power that is why they put him there but he is not doing it and he knows,“ he said.

In his speech, the newly-enthroned diocesan Bishop of Lagos Mainland, Rt. Rev Babatunde Johnson, pledged to be transparent and pursue activities that will move the diocese to the next level.

He also called for the support and prayer of clergies and the congregation.
