A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Sunny Onuesoke, has thrown his weight behind the solution proffered by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to the Niger Delta crisis.
Okowa, while receiving the Commander of Operation Delta Safe, Rear Admiral Joseph Okojie, who paid him a visit in his office in Asaba, Delta State, had suggested that the best way to tackle security in the Niger Delta is through the sharing of intelligence and combination of personnel.
Speaking in Asaba, Onuesoke, who said he supported the governor’s advice, argued that if the government approached the Niger Delta crisis through intelligence and combination of personnel as suggested by Okowa, the crisis in the region would be resolved.
The PDP chieftain, who advised the Federal Government to focus on how the country could be restructured without resorting to war so that every body will have sense of belonging, described Okowa as a peace-loving governor who will not want his state to be turned into a war zone, adding that, that is why he is coming up with such a beautiful idea.
