Okowa warns against disruption of Chevron’s health project

WARRI—GOVERNOR Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has charged youths of Ekpan community in Uvwie Local Government Area, of the state,  not to disrupt the pace of work as Chevron Nigeria Limited  flags off a project to provide Surgical Theatre and Consultation Rooms at Ekpan General Hospital in the council.

The governor, represented by the state Health Commissioner, Dr. Nicholas Azinge, gave the warning while performing the groundbreaking for the project at the hospital, yesterday, noting that it would improve healthcare delivery in the council when completed.

Chevron’s General Manager, Policy, Government and Public Affairs, Deji Haastrup, said that the project including a 60KVA generator under the Chevron/NNPC Joint Venture, will complement previous efforts at supporting economic and social development in the host community.

HRM Emmanuel Sideso, Abe I, the Ovie of Uvwie, who joined the governor in laying the project’s foundation stone, assured: “We will provide a peaceful atmosphere and all necessary support to ensure not only the completion of this laudable project, but also for Chevron’s continued smooth operations in my domain.”
