Delta community restates commitment to peace in N-Delta

ASABA—The youths of Ugborodo community in Warri South West Local Government Area, Delta State, under the aegis of Ugborodo National Youth Council have pledged their continued commitment to the peace and development of the oil rich community and Niger Delta region. The newly elected National Chairman of the Ugborodo Youth Council, Mr Ofe Nene, who made the pledge at Ugborodo after his election, said sustained peace and security in the locality were top priority to the youth body.

Nene who was returned unopposed, noted that there was need for unity of purpose among stakeholders in the community to guarantee sustainable development. He said all must work together in the overall interest of the people. He acknowledged the efforts of leaders in the community at ensuring peaceful coexistence among the people and their neighbours, stressing the need for all to remain in the part of peace and development.

Nene appealed for government presence in Ugborodo community, maintaining that the community’s contributions to the nation’s economy should be acknowledged by citing viable projects to the area and give employment opportunities to the indigenes. He congratulated the newly elected members of the youth association and urged them to provide selfless service to the people.

Vice chairman of the Ugborodo youth body, Mr Darlington Irone, the National Secretary, Mr Bawo Emami and the Public Relations Officer, Mr David Mamah, assured of their commitment to the promotion of peace and unity of the people.
