National Secretary, Phase Three Amnesty Group of ex-agitators, Mr. Tam Odogwu, has said that appointment of board members for Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, will go a long way to address the resurgence of militants’ activities in the region.

Odogwu, who expressed concern over recent attacks on oil and gas facilities in the region, said that the current agitation in the region by some armed groups was partly fed by the handicapped situation the NDDC finds itself, which left many youths idle.

He said: “When NDDC had board members, a lot of infrastructural development was going on and most of the youths in the region were engaged in their various communities and they earned salaries and wages from projects.”
