For being told she was HIV positive, a 46-year-old woman, Celestina Mamah, allegedly stabbed herself to death in Udenu Local Government Area, Enugu State.
According to Enugu State Police Command spokesman, SP Ebere Amaraizu, the woman left her home at about 6p.m., headed for a forest near Ogwu Rest House in the area, where it was alleged that she stabbed herself to death with a knife.
The lifeless body of the woman was found the next day at about 11a.m. after the family had alerted Udenu Police Division of the woman’s disappearance. Amaraizu said investigations have commenced into the incident as the body had been deposited in a nearby hospital.
