A 23-year-old man, Ahmed Musa, who allegedly had anal sex with a 13-year-old boy, was on Monday remanded in prison on the order of a Kano Magistrates’ Court.

Musa, who lives at Rijiyar Lemo Quarters in Kano, is facing a charge of sodomy.

The accused pleaded not guilty.

Chief Magistrate Fatima Adamu, who refused the accused bail, said he should be kept behind the bars until the next date of adjournment.

Earlier, Prosecutor Sale Muhammad told the court that a man, Adamu Shuaibu of Rijiyar Lemo Quarters, Kano, reported the incident at Rijiyar Lemo Police Stationon May 2.

Acording to him, about two months ago, the accused lured the boy into his shop at the quarters and had anal sex with him.

“The boy was sustained injuries and was rushed to a hospital in Kano for treatment.’’

The offence contravened Section 284 of the Penal Code, Laws of the Federation.

The case was adjourned to July 12 for mention.
