Sapele—The people of Opuekeba community, Warri North Local Government Council of Delta State, yesterday, faulted a recent publication credited to the Director of Air Force Public Relations, Group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa, that their community (Opuekeba) is located in Ondo State, saying, “Our Opuekeba community is in Delta State.”

The Nigerian Air Force, confirmed recently that it had deployed additional aircraft to several spots in the Niger Delta, including, “Opuekeba in Ondo State,” to assist other security agencies to quell the current wave of  bombings of oil facilities in the region.

Reacting, the people of the community, represented by Chairman of the community, Mr Federal Johnson said, “The classification by Group Captain Famuyiwa that we belong to Ondo State instead of Delta State, if not immediately corrected could worsen the security situation in the country. It could spark off crisis between us in Delta State and our neighbouring people of Ondo State.

“We the people of Opuekeba are law abiding people. We are in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State and not in Ondo State. This error can spark off disaster and should be corrected.”
